In addition to the original post below, Pastor Steve has since been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for Steve and his family. Please continue to keep Pastor Steve and his family in your prayers.
Thank you all for your prayers and meals! Pastor Steve underwent surgery on June 17 to have a cancerous tumor removed. The surgeon is confident it was completely removed and that the cancer hasn't spread. His healing will be an ongoing journey, so let's continue to pray for Pastor Steve and his family, and also to thank God for his goodness! Here is a letter from Steve:
"Pat, Nicole, Shauna, Dylan, and I, want to express our deepest thanks to our Gateway Church Family, for the love and support you have displaye towards us. We truly believe it is your prayers that have made the difference in our recent and ongoing journey.
Dr. Goussev, my surgeon, believes he was able to remove all the cancer. He removed the tumour, along with foot of intestine and lymph nodes from the area. The pathology report should be back in a couple weeks. I was released from the hospital on Friday, a day earlier than expected.
Thank you to those of you who provided meals for our family. They were timely and gave them opportunity to focus on caring for me. Thank you Pastor Dean for your personal pastoral care to us. Our family is so appreciative of the time you spent caring for us and organizing Gateway to provide for us.
We are humbled and feel blessed to experience such love and encouragement.
We continue to covet your prayers as the healing journey continues.
God is good, ALL the time!
With much love,
Pastor Steve, Pat, Nicole, Shauna, and Dylan
